Accelerate Fund is Alberta's angel co-investment fund program, established by Alberta Enterprise Corporation in 2012 and run across four successive vehicles. Fund IV launched in December 2024 with a $15M anchor from Alberta Enterprise Corporation and a target total of $25M, sourced from institutional investors, family offices and high-net-worth individuals. Fund IV invests in Alberta-based pre-Series A companies focused on life sciences, digital transformation, AI and other emerging opportunities. Each cheque is typically up to $500k, co-invested on the same terms as private investors alongside angel groups, super-angels, family funds and individual angels. Funds II, III and IV are managed by Yaletown Partners, Funds II and III in partnership with The A100, the non-profit member network of Alberta tech operators; Fund I was managed by AVAC Group. Funds I, II and III are fully invested.

Follow-on

Accelerate Fund co-invests on the same terms as private investors and will lead or co-lead pre-seed and seed rounds. Pro-rata capacity is preserved within Fund IV (which anchored at $15M against a $25M target) to back winners into pre-Series A, with Yaletown Partners positioned to provide an institutional bridge toward Series A.
