Terms
The small print, kept small.
Fractal App is a free information tool for founders. These terms say who runs it, what the data means, and where our responsibility stops.
Operator
Fractal App is published by Fractal (cfofractal.ca), a fractional CFO and financial due diligence firm working from Montréal and Paris. Contact: hello@cfofractal.ca. The site is hosted on Netlify.
What you agree to
By using the app you accept these terms. You use it for your own fundraising work, in good faith. You do not scrape, copy or resell the directory, and you do not use the app to send unsolicited mass outreach. Fractal can suspend access that breaks these rules.
The data, and its limits
Investor profiles, cheque sizes, stages, sectors, portfolios and program terms are compiled from public sources (websites, press, filings, program pages) and reviewed by hand. They describe the market as we understand it on the day we checked; they can lag reality and they can contain errors.
The fit scores, the runway and cap table figures, the credit stacking and every other number the app computes are estimates built from your own inputs and from that public data. They are a starting point for a conversation, never a quote. Confirm every term with the investor, the program or your advisor before you act on it.
Not advice
Nothing in Fractal App is investment, legal, tax or accounting advice, and nothing here creates a client relationship with Fractal. Decisions about your raise, your instruments and your filings are yours, and they deserve a professional who knows your file.
No warranty, limited liability
The app is provided as is, free of charge, without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for a purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Fractal is not liable for any loss, direct or indirect, that comes from using the app or relying on its content, including a missed deadline, a mispriced round or a decision taken on outdated data.
Investors, names and logos
Investor names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners. They appear here to identify who invests in Canada, on the same basis as a directory. An investor can ask for a correction or the removal of a profile at hello@cfofractal.ca; we answer within 10 business days.
Your content
The notes, shortlist, pipeline and raise figures you enter stay yours. You give Fractal only the right to store and display them back to you, and to keep them in sync across your devices when you sign in. We do not read them to sell you anything, and we never show them to an investor.
Fractal’s content
The glossary, the checklists, the templates, the code and the design of the app belong to Fractal. You can quote a definition with a link back. Templates downloaded from the app are yours to use in your own raise, without redistributing them as a product.
Changes and law
The app changes often, and so can these terms; the date at the top is the one that applies. These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute goes to the courts of Montréal.
