Maple Leaf Angels (MLA) is Toronto's largest angel investor network, founded in 2007 as a not-for-profit membership organization that connects accredited investors with seed and early-stage tech founders. Members collectively look to invest $250k to $1M per opportunity, but each member commits individually rather than through a single fund vehicle. To date MLA members have invested over $44 million in 102 companies. Notable investments include Nicoya Lifesciences, Cybeats (acquired by Relay Medical in March 2021), OnCall Health and EmergConnect ($1.75M CAD seed in March 2025 led by AQC Capital, alongside Leva Capital, Anges Quebec, Nimbus Synergies and Capital Angel Network). MLA is active in the Ontario angel ecosystem alongside Angel Investors Ontario and the National Angel Capital Organization.
