Their thesis, in full
Round13 Capital is a Toronto-based growth-stage technology investor dedicated to Canadian software and tech companies that have already validated their business model. Its current fund (Fund III, first close $200M CAD in 2023, target $300M) invests in a range of venture and growth-stage equity investments in the Canadian technology ecosystem, with hold periods of 5 to 10 years. The platform also runs a separate digital-asset vehicle (US$70M). Founded in 2013 by Bruce Croxon (Lavalife, Dragons' Den) and John Eckert, Round13 is now run day to day by Managing Partners Brahm Klar and Wilson Lee, and brings operational rigor, governance discipline and international expansion expertise. The team is known for hands-on post-investment work on revenue, hiring and M&A.

Questions they usually ask
Have an answer ready for each one before the first call.
- Are you at $5M+ ARR with predictable growth and unit economics that justify a Series B+ lead?
- Do you have a credible expansion plan into the US or international markets?
- Are you open to active board involvement and a 5-7 year path to a strategic exit or IPO?
Follow-on
Round13 reserves significant capital for follow-ons across its funds, including the PropelR Growth Fund, and selectively co-invests with US growth investors. The team prefers founders who keep them informed quarter to quarter on KPIs and runway.
