Canada's first venture capital fund dedicated to quantum technologies and adjacent deeptech. Based in Sherbrooke with a Montreal office, Quantacet leverages the deep talent pipeline of Universite de Sherbrooke and the Institut quantique. The fund closed an initial $20M CAD in November 2023 and invests at pre-seed and seed in quantum startups worldwide, across quantum sensing, quantum computing, quantum communications and enabling technologies. Quantacet leads pre-seed and seed rounds and also co-invests alongside international quantum specialists. Led by partners Martin Laforest, Chloe Archambault and Ghyslain Goulet, with Elena Pikulina as principal, the team brings a rare combination of deep scientific expertise, academic network and operational support.

Follow-on

Quantacet selectively follows on into later priced rounds, from Femtum's Series A in 2026 to Nord Quantique's growth round, and actively brings international deep tech investors along. Its stated model is to act as the sector reference that lowers the risk for non-specialist and later-stage investors.
